Hey Kids
Sister Marlowe...Week #25
May 31, 2017
Sorry for the late email this week, our mission has now converted our preparation day to Wednesday instead of Monday every week!
So first off, I want to start off by saying that we found JIM this week! He is awesome. Jim was looking into the church a few years ago, and we called him last week, paid him a visit, and he wants to start learning again! He is wonderful. We went to visit him, and long story short, he pretty much ended up sharing his testimony with us! He told us that 34 years ago, his life wasn't where he wanted it to be, and he realized that he needed Jesus Christ in his life. Since then, he has been reading and studying and praying and working to have Jesus Christ become a bigger part of his life. Soooo how excited do you think we were to share with him that Christ's own church has been restored to the earth again???? Yessssss.
Wednesday we had GOLDEN REVIEW! And Sister Liutai smaaaaashed. It was so great. It is so awesome to see the enthusiasm and excitement that goldens (new missionaries) have! I also started learning how to pray in Samoan... #companionshipunity
Thursday, we popped by the house of a new contact we met last week tracting, and talked to JUSTIN! He told us that he has never been very religious, but he has been wanting to learn a lot more! We met his little 6 year old daughter, and he said she asks him almost daily about if there is a God and he hasn't been sure what to teach her! He wants to bring her to church
Friday we went on a second exchange in Dandenong and it was soooo fun! Ah Sister Daroy (our STL [sister training leader]) is the best ever and I think when she goes home I'm going to just die. LOVE HER TO DEATH.
Saturday was gunnnnn ey! We met a really cool guy named Dylan who is soooo awesome and I am just praying non-stop that we'll be able to see him again!! My compies spent all of Saturday night going back and forth pretending to be American and making up fake conversations in "American" accents.... Lolllls.
Sunday was sooooo goood! We had a guy come to our ward that the elders had met in their area and he is awesomeeeeee. His name is Matthew, he is great! He came with us to a baptism after church and he is really wanting to get baptized! Sadly, he might be moving into the city, so we might have to pass him to the missionaries there.... But until then.. We get to teach Matthew!
Monday was amazing. We went to visit a lady in our ward who hasn't been active in a few months since her son died. Wowwie! I am so grateful for the knowledge that I have of eternal families! It's so hard to think about losing loved ones without knowing that I'll see them again. #ETERNALLYGRATEFUL
Tuesday was a day of miracles!! We had planned for a few people to visit and a few streets to tract on..... and then our appointment cancelled. and then it started pouring rain. and it was like 9 degrees outside (celsius tho don't worry). So we decided hmm let's maybe not tract because Sis. Liutai doesn't have a coat! We made a plan to just stay in the area and visit different members from our ward list that we hadn't met before so we just picked a name on our list, and showed up. No one was home... So we decided to just knock on 5 or six doors nearby. Got about 5 houses away and it started pouring again! So we ran back to the car which was parked in front of Lisa's house, aaaaaaand I heard someone yellling "Sisters Sisters!" I look up and this man was standing on the porch! Long story slightly shorter, we talked to him a minute and he said you NEED to visit Lisa. Well right then she pulled up in her car, and we all went in to talk to her. She hasn't been active for years but she had been telling her friend Andy the night before that she has been praying and knew that she needs to take the discussions again and she needs the gospel back in her life. "I was praying for the answers to my questions to show up on my porch, I knew I wouldn't be strong enough to go out and look for the answers." Welllll Tuesday morning we prayed that we somehow would be able to see the people that needed us. Fast forward to Tuesday afternoon, we're sitting in her living room and she was just crying because we told her how all our plans fell apart and we just picked her name to visit even though it was 10 minutes out of the way. #MIRACLES!!!!!! Good, good day.
And to end off the week, we got on the train at 6 this morning to ride over to Brighton Beach (my old stomping grounds in Moorabbin hey) and meet with all the East side sisters! It was sooooooo cold. But we got some mad pictures. So it's all goods.
And theeeeeere's the week folks! Love yous all!
Ou te alofa ia te oe!

(Even if you're not serving a mission at all, honestly) Take some time and look up "The Ricciardi Letter" by Danny Humphrey. It's a longie but a goodie. I've been having some struggles and one of my zone leaders suggested I study it. YOZA. #lifechanger
