WEEK OF MIRACLES

WEEK OF MIRACLES
Sister Marlowe...Week #23
May 15, 2017

Miracle week! So Tuesday night we had set an appointment with a lady in our ward whose husband isn't a member, but he shows up at church with her every once in a while! We had set an appointment originally to go and kind of practice teaching the lesson about the Restoration of the gospel. The husband wasn't going to make it to the appointment because he works in the city! We have been praying a lot that we would be able to have an opportunity to be able to teach him.... and just as we pulled up to park in front of their house, he came up right behind us and into their driveway at the exact same time! Miracle! We were able to teach them about the restoration and it was AMAZING to have his wife there to testify to him and share things with him, that otherwise she maybe wouldn't have if we weren't there! He really seemed to be interested and want to know more, and he has been reading the Book of Mormon this week and praying with his wife! We'll be visiting them again in a few days to follow up on how he is doing with that :) Please pray for Robert!!!

Wednesday we got to do a LOT of finding! We tracted for about 4 hours... So great! It is so fun to be able to talk to all kinds of different people all day! We also got to visit one of our member families, the Bryers! The wife has been super sick and it's her birthday, so we brought her a card and some flowers! Ah they are the best. Love them so much!

Thursday, we had ZONE CONFERENCE!!! Ah I love zone conferences so much. I got so sing in a musical number with my twin Sister Fraedrich and we were both soooo glad to have the song over with hahaha.. BUT the conference was amazing! I always leave meetings with a huge resolve to do better and be better. I always feel so inspired and bolstered up! I found an old copy of the mission newsletter from last year, and president Vidmar used a great quote: "Character is the ability to carry out a worthy decision after the emotion of making that decision has passed." I am working on my character!!!
I have been praying a lot this week. I'm really happy to say that I think me and Heavenly Father are pretty good friends :)
We had some pretty cool experiences this week! Last Monday morning, we had an early morning zone exercise, and after we all studied together to come up with some zone goals for the transfer! We talked a lot about how most of our goals kind of depend on people's agency! We can work and work and work and still have no one agree to taking the missionary discussions, so we all decided to start setting daily goals of how many new people we will talk to--a goal of which we have a lot more control over! It has been quite fun trying each day to run and talk to as many people as we can! The assistants to the President are in our district, and they have a goal of talking to 20 people minimum every day. If they don't talk to at least 20, they each have to do 200 push ups hahaha. Let's just say our punishment isn't quite that rough, but I think we only missed our goal one day this week!!

We had some interesting experiences this week in trying to achieve our goals! We've been doing heaps of tracting, and we've found some wonderful people! We decided Friday to say a prayer and point to a random street on our map and tract the whole thing! We knocked on this one door, and this man came outside and just started showing us all these pictures and videos of this cat on his phone. Apparently it was this extremely old cat that he cared for until it died and it had died the day before in its sleep. Extremely traumatizing! So he continued to tell us that he had just felt so much love and support from God in helping him get through that week and when we left he asked to pray for us! He prayed and thanked God (in tears) for showing his love by sending three angels to his front door. Wow!!! What a day. Then the next day, we did the same things: Prayed, picked a street, tracted, and the same, talked to a guy who is in training to become a preacher and after a hearty conversation about the blessing of having Jesus Christ in our lives, he asked to pray for us! He asked that we would be protected and He told God he knows that we are sacrificing so much and asked God that we can be able to find success and share the message that we have. It was so refreshing to talk to someone who didn't just want to cut us down because we aren't from the same religion! He sincerely prayed that we can do good and be protected in our efforts! I think heavenly Father wanted us to have those good experiences, running into people who weren't interested but still genuinely were thankful and kind!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaandd Got to skype my family this morning!!!! WOWWIE! I love yous! They sound so American :'))) I'll teach you how to talk like all the fobs (poly's) when I get home. It was so good to see my momma. I know I wouldn't be out here if it weren't for her.  I have the best family ever!!!!! #Skuxx Next time I talk to them, I'll have a short six months left... Makes me a little sad! I love this place and I love these people and I love this work. Hardest thing I've ever loved to do :) (S.O. to Nashville Tribute, give them a listen sometime)

LOVE YOUS! Ou te alofa ia te oe!
